不知何时，我翻开了《繁星》、《春水》这本书，我细细地品味着这些优美的诗句，使我深受感触。

《繁星》、《春水》的内容，是诗人平时记下的“随时随地的感想和回忆”。后来，她受到泰戈尔《飞鸟集》的启发，觉得自己那些三言两语的小杂感里也有着诗的因子，这才整理起来，而成为两本诗集。冰心在当时大约不会想到，她这两本含蓄隽永、富于哲理的小诗集的出版，竟会使那么多青年的久已沉默的心弦受到拨动，从而在她的影响下，进入了一个小诗流行的时代

这本书主要体现了两大主题：一是纯真的童心；二是圣洁的母爱。主要内容是对母爱、童真及大自然的讴歌 《繁星》共164 首，主要体现纯真的童心。 《春水》共182首，主要体现圣洁的母爱。
